Episode 3 is filled with ups and downs. Finally, a deal happened between Do Hee and Gu Won: Do Hee would allow Gu Won to hold her wrist to use power, and in exchange, Gu Won would be her bodyguard. Do-Hee’s adoptive mother, Madam Ju (Kim Hae-Sook), passed away. Do-Hee, on the other hand, wants to expose the truth after figuring out that it was a murder. She asks Gu-Won to marry her as a consequence of events.
What happened in episode 3?
Episode 3 is the continuation of the previous one, where Gu Won saved Do Hee from an acid attack. But he explained that he was trying to save his tattoo from getting burned.
She then reports the case against the acid attack at the police station. The detectives ask her about who wanted to kill her. She pretends to have no idea, but she has doubts about someone after the unknown call from her employee. Actually, that employee, Mr. Cha, wanted to share some secrets with Do Hee but was murdered by someone before he could open his mouth.
Do Hee ask Demon to be her bodyguard?
When Gu Won was driving Do Hee home, she proposed to him to be her bodyguard to save her and his tattoo. First, he denied it, as he felt that this job is for lower-level people, but he was taking care of her by checking the security of her building, so indirectly, he might have accepted the job offer.
On the other hand, the killer is at home, where he has many posters of Do Hee, so he is the psychopath who has killed many people by changing his appearance. Cheon-sook gives her secretary a call and requests all press reports about Mr. Cha’s passing. She also requests the last ten years’ worth of financial statements of the company. After carefully reading the statements, Cheon-sook makes a discovery. She calls a mystery man with a leather jacket and tells him that this time he has gone too far. She says he will pay for what he has done as she knows this man killed someone. The enigmatic man walks off, furious, but without saying anything.
The Demon will be the Guardian Now
The next day, Gu Won was in a happy and positive mood. He was trying to relax himself, but wait—something smelled like burning. Oh Gu Won index finger-catching fire due to spontaneous combustion. Actually, as the demon stops using his powers and completes his job, his hands start burning.
Quickly, he agreed to be Do Hee’s bodyguard and asked to go with him for his job. They went to the hospital to help a girl who was facing cancer and was about to die, but at that time, Gu Won asked her mother to sign the soul contract to save her child. She immediately did to save her child, and then, with demonic power, the patient was saved.
Do Hee witnessed everything and was unhappy with Gu Won. She scolded him for playing with the emotions and weaknesses of others. Do-hee, furious, asks him to think about the girl’s feelings if she loses her mother as a result of the deal. He gets fired as her bodyguard, and she stomps off. He then, without caring, decided to celebrate his deal but was stopped by his inner thoughts. He then visited the hospital to meet that child, who mentioned that her wish was to always see her parents happy. This made Gu Won, the demon, feel sad.
Cheon-Sook’s death was in Vain?
The next day, he was holding an umbrella for Do Hee when she came out of her car. She considered him to be her bodyguard. After working a full day, they both returned to Cheon-Sook’s house, but she was found dead in her garden, which broke Do Hee’s heart into pieces.
How Funeral Became a Surprise Party?
The upcoming day was the funeral of Cheon-Sook, but no one was feeling grief, not even her children, except Do Hee. Even Gu Won mentioned that the funeral looked like a party. But then it turned into a surprise party due to two reasons. Firstly, the detective came to address the family with the autopsy report, which says that the cause of the death was allergies or the wrong medicine, which made Do Hee suspect the death by poison.
The second surprise was Cheon-Sook’s will, in which she mentioned that all of her assets, including shares and a mansion, should be given to Do Do Hee with the condition that if she gets married within one year or otherwise, all the assets will be donated to charity. This gave every family member, and guests a heart attack, as everyone was hoping that Suk-Min, the eldest son, would become chairman.
Se-ra, Cheon-Sook’s daughter, in the meantime, wonders if Do-hee will accept the will. She is taken aback when she responds that only death can stop her. When Do-hee approaches Gu-won, he uses one of the rings Cheon-sook gave her as a prop and asks him to marry her. The episode ends on a cliffhanger since we are unsure of Gu-won’s response.
Overall Thoughts:
The situation has become so dangerous for Do Hee that now her mother is also not there to protect her, and she left her in the den of wolves. Also, does he have to find the culprit and stay alert for attacks? The worst part is that she will be chairman soon, which makes her more unsafe. But I think Gu Won will manage to save her as earlier. This episode was intense and full of surprise discoveries.
It was unknown who Cheon-Sook met late at night, and I guess he is the one who killed Cheon-Sook because he seemed to not want to get instructed or revealed by her. The main leads were concerned about each other now. At last, Do Hee proposed to Gu Won. After all, she knew that she would be safe if she married him because she trusted no one right now.
It will be exciting to listen to the answer from Gu Won in the next episode.
