The life of the three Miller Sisters is a real-word fairy tale! Born to a billionaire father, the three Miler sisters even became royalty in their own right. Here is all about the Miller sisters.
Not so long ago, there lived a King. Instead of a kingdom, this King ruled over his vast business empire in SouthEast Asia. The King and his Queen had three beautiful daughters. All three grew up and two of them married royals while the third got married to the heir of another business empire. These three girls, called ‘The Miller Sisters’, ruled the social circuit in the pre-social media days across the world.
Young American Robert Miller established his ‘Duty-Free’ shopping kingdom in Hong Kong in the ’60s and ’70s. Soon Miller became the largest travel retailer in the world and also a billionaire. He and his beautiful wife Maria Clara Pesantes Becerra became proud parents to Pia (born 1966), Marie-Chantal (born 1968) and Alexandra (1972).
All three girls spent their growing up years in Hong Kong, Switzerland and the US. Here is why The Miller sisters were the pre-social media page 3 favourites.
Pia
The eldest of the Miller sisters, Pia attended primary school first in Hong Kong, then the prestigious Le Rosey School in Switzerland before completing her studies at Georgetown University in the US. In 1992, Pia married Christopher Getty, grandson of billionaire John Paul and the owner of Getty Oil. The wedding was held on the beautiful island of Bali and it was splashed across page 3 of all dailies across the world. It was quoted as the most memorable fantasy wedding ever seen by the world till that day!
Unfortunately, the wedding ended in divorce in 2006, but by then Pia Miller was already a mother to four kids – Isabela, Robert, Conrad and Maximus.
Today, Pia is an acclaimed documentary maker and her recent film China Power: Art Now After Mao has already gathered rave reviews. Besides, Pia was also once the spokesperson to cosmetic giant Sephora and features regularly in fashion and beauty magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair.
Marie-Chantal
Marie was born as a prince and eventually even met her prince in real life! In her 20s Marie was even the muse to none other than Andy Warhol and counted fashion designers like Valentino, Michael Kors and Mario Testino as her friends!
Once in New York, her friends set her up on a blind date and guess whom she met? Her date for that evening was none other than Prince Pavlos, the crown prince of Greece! The couple hit off the moment they met and have remained inseparable since then.
When the two finally married some six months after they first met, their wedding guest list included who’s who from global royalty including Queen Elizabeth herself! It is said that Valentino himself designed and made her wedding dress and carried a price tag of $250,000! Though Greece had abolished the monarchy in the early ’70s, this royal wedding had created such public hysteria that it was telecast live in Greece!
Marie is blessed with five children: Princess Maria-Olympia, Prince Constantine-Alexios, Prince Achileas-Andreas, Prince Odysseas-Kimon, and Prince Aristidis-Stavros.
Besides being the heiress to a wealthy hedge fund, Marie has her successful line of luxury children’s wear
Alexandra
The youngest of the three Miller sisters is Alexandra. After finishing her studies at Brown University in New York, she majored in fashion and Art history from Parsons School of Design.
In 1995, Alexandra Miller became Her Serene Highness Princess Alexandra von Furstenburg when she married Prince Alexander von Furstenburg, the heir of the noble family of Furstenburg from Germany’s Baden-Württemberg region.
Together they have two children: Princess Talita Natasha and Prince Tassilo Egon Maximilian. Unfortunately, the marriage did not last long and the couple separated in 2002 and then finally divorced. This made Alexandra lose her royal title too!
Alexandra currently works as a furniture designer and as an image director with the famous brand Diane von Furstenburg founded by her erstwhile mother-in-law!
Surprisingly, Alexandra recovered her birth name Miller again in 2015 when she married Dax Miller, a designer!
As fate would have it, children of the famous Miller sisters now rule social media and have loads of fan following across the world. The only difference is that instead of the Miller Sisters, they are called the Miller Cousins!
