Prologue[]

In Percy's room, he is cuddling with Annabeth and Thalia.

At Camp Half-Blood, the boys were playing basketball and hope that Percy is fine.

In the Olympic Council room, they were all not arguing but looking normal.

Apollo and Artemis were getting along and rekindled their siblinghood that Artemis jokingly calls him little bro, much to his happiness. She also likes his new mortal self.

Aphrodite is talking with Hephaestus about making amends with him.

Hermes was telling one of his funny stories to Athena, who laughed at the pranks that she was told about.

They then see the demigods arrive but everyone saw Percy.

The demigoddesses went and hugged him.

The boys cheered their friend on.

One of the new visitors Brandon smiled at him.

The new visitors introduced themselves.

They found a book called Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief and Percy will be the reader.

Percy groaned at this but agreed to read.

Chapter 1: I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher[]

Percy has Annabeth and Thalia sit on his lap, much to their happiness.

When the title was read, everyone looked at Percy.

"How do you accidentally vaporize a math teacher?" asked a confused Artemis.

"How do you accidentally peek in your brother's shower?" asked a smirking Percy.

All the boys said 'ooohhh' and laughed at this along with the friendly people.

Artemis blushes at this before playfully glaring at a innocently smiling Percy.

"Just f*cking read." said a blushing and embarrassed Artemis.

"Okay Arty." said a smiling Percy before surprisingly taking out some glasses and putting them on, shocking Annabeth.

(Look, I didn't want to be a half blood.)

"Who wouldn't?" asked the annoyed demigods and demigoddesses.

"We would." said the confident Luke, Drew, Chris, and Clarisse.

"Of course, you would." said an uncaring Percy.

"Come on, seaweed brain, lighten up." said a teasing Drew.

"Don't call me that, only Annabeth should." said a glaring Percy.

Annabeth and Thalia glare at Drew.

Aphrodite was disappointed in Drew.

(If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my advice is:)

"Oh great, here comes his advice." said an annoyed Clarisse, earning nods of agreement from Luke, Drew, Chris, and the other mean people.

"Oh please, like your advice is any better." said an annoyed Jason, earning snickers from his fellow boys.

"Why don't you shut up?" asked an irritated Drew.

"Why don't you make me, bitch?" asked a smirking Jason, earning gasps from others.

"Excuse me?!" asked an offended and angry Drew.

"You're excused." said a smirking Jason, earning laughs from the others.

Percy smiled gratefully at him.

Juno smiled proudly.

Thalia, Zoe, Diana, and Minevra laughed at this.

Brenden smirked in satisfaction at this due to what Drew did to him.

Drew was about to say something but Percy used his new powers to tape her lips shut, making her mumble instead.

"That will stay until the book is over." said a smiling Percy, who is able to remove it.

Drew crossed her arms and angrily growled as Luke comforted her.

'Seaweed Brain, like it or not, you belong to us.' thought an angry Drew.

'How dare he do this to my sweetheart.' thought an also angry Luke.

(Close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about at birth and try to lead a normal life.)

"What a wimp." said a scoffing Ryan.

"Yeah, if he can't stand the Demi-God world, then he shouldn't be here at all." said a smirking Matt.

The mean people laugh at this.

The nice people glare at them.

However, Percy could care less and gives the middle finger.

They get worried for Percy on how he just brushed that off.

Annabeth and Thalia looked worried at this, wishing that he could just respond.

(Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.)

"Check." said a nodding Jason.

"Double check." said an agreeing Leo.

"Triple check." said an also agreeing Frank.

(If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction, great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of this ever happened.)

"Oh Seaweed Brain, there's nothing to envy." said a fond Annabeth.

'What a wimp.' thought a rude Luke but decided to not voice it.

(But if you recognize yourself in these pages-if you feel something stirring inside-stop reading immediately.)

Percy chose to not pretend to close the book since he knew that some of the others would be joking around.

(You might be one of us. And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they sense it too, and they'll come for you.)

(Don't say I didn't warn you.)

Everyone's impressed by his narrative.

Annabeth was proud of him.

Even Luke is impressed, despite being jealous of him.

'He's good at advice.' thought an impressed Hebe.

'He knows how to survive.' thought an also impressed Hela.

(My name is Percy Jackson.)

"No, it's Peter Johnson." said a joking Dionysus.

"No, it's Perry Johanson." said an also joking Chiron.

They both laugh at their joke while Percy smiled at that.

"Wait a minute, Percy Jackson, the current hero of Olympus?" asked a shocked Thor.

"It's him." said a nodding Horus.

The other gods and goddesses were shocked to meet him.

Kronos was angered to see him.

(I'm twelve years old.)

"I'm actually now 16 years old." said a serious Percy.

(Until a few months ago, I was a boarding student at Yancy Academy, a private school for troubled kids in upstate New York.)

"But now, I go to Goode High." said a smiling Percy.

(Am I a troubled kid?)

"Yes." said the demi-gods, demi-goddesses, gods, and goddesses.

However, there were glares at the mean people for saying it rudely.

Annabeth thought it fondly.

(Yeah. You could say that.)

"I mean, I'm not wrong." said a shrugging Percy.

Everyone's shocked that he's not offended.

God is proud of Percy for not taking insults.

(I could start at any point in my short miserable life to prove it,)

Percy got nervous at that, remembering his first step-dad.

Grover patted him on the back.

Annabeth and Thalia growled, having heard of Smelly Gabe and knowing how bad he was.

(but things really started going bad last May, when our sixth-grade class took a field trip to Manhattan, twenty-eight mental-case kids and two teachers on a yellow school bus, heading to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to look at ancient Greek and Roman stuff.)

"That sounds amazing." said a happy Athena, earning a happy nod from Annabeth, who decided to be silent.

(I know-it sounds like torture. Most Yancy field trips were.)

Athena and Annabeth frown at Percy, who sheepishly smiles.

(But Mr. Brunner, our Latin teacher, was leading the trip, so I had hopes.)

Chiron smiled kindly at the compliment.

(Mr. Brunner was this middle-aged guy in a motorized wheelchair. He had thinning hair and a scruffy beard and a frayed tweed jacket, which always smelled like coffee.)

The past heroes recognized him as Chiron.

Chiron chuckled at his description.

(You wouldn't think he'd be cool, but he told stories and jokes and let us play games in class.)

Chiron was happy that Percy liked the class.

(He also had this awesome collection of Roman armor and weapons,)

The Roman felt complimented.

(so he was the only teacher whose class didn't put me to sleep.)

"YOU SLEEP IN CLASS?!" yelled a shocked Athena and Minevra.

"Yeah, so what?" asked an uncaring Percy.

'That little sh*t, who does he think he is?' thought an offended Athena.

"Why do you sleep in class?" asked a worried Minevra.

"Because I tried to do good in class but my Dyslexia and ADHD prevent me from learning and the teachers don't even bother to help me because they think I'm stupid." said a serious Percy.

"I see, we should do something about it." said an understanding Minevra.

(I hoped the trip would be okay. At least, I hoped that for once I wouldn't get in trouble.)

"That's wishful thinking." said a scoffing Leo.

(Boy, was I wrong.)

"Told ya." said a smug Leo, only to get hit by Piper.

"No one disagreed with you." said an irritated Piper.

"Whatever, Beauty Queen." said an annoyed Leo.

"What was that?" asked an angry Piper.

"You heard me." said a shrugging Leo.

Piper just became red face with anger at what he called her but just crossed her arms with an angry pout.

Aphrodite noticed and smirked.

Jason smiled at this as well.

Calypso was thinking of something.

(See, bad things happen to me on field trips.)

"No, you don't say." said a sarcastic Artemis.

Apollo chuckled at Artemis' sarcasm.

Hermes rolled his eyes fondly.

(Like at my fifth-grade school, when we went to the Saratoga battlefield, I had this accident with a Revolutionary War cannon. I wasn't aiming for the school bus, but of course I got expelled anyway.)

Everyone laughed at that, even the mean people.

Annabeth was covering her mouth in laughter, Thalia was holding her sides, and their friends were barely holding on.

"What were you aiming for?" asked a laughing Diana.

"I was actually playing with it and didn't know it was real until it went off and the damage was done but the good news was that everyone got out of the way and it scared the literal and figurative sh*t out of the bullies." said a grinning Percy, making everyone laugh even harder.

(And before that, at my fourth-grade school, when we took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Marine World shark pool, I sort of hit the wrong lever on the catwalk and our class took an unplanned swim.)

There was more laughter.

"That was an accident." said a sheepish Percy.

(And the time before that...Well, you get the idea.)

Everyone moaned in disappointment.

Percy rolled his eyes at them.

(This trip, I was determined to be good.)

Everyone scoffed at that.

'Him and good don't mix.' thought a scoffing Zeus.

Ares glared at his least-favorite demi-god.

"Are we sure that was read right?" asked an amused Jason.

Percy rolled his eyes.

(All the way into the city, I put up with Nancy Bobofit,)

"More like Nancy Boba Fett." said a joking Percy, earning laughs from Grover, Apollo, Hermes, Diana, and Mercury.

"Okay, that was a good one." said a laughing Luke, as the mean people also laugh.

Ares looked shocked at the last name.

(the freckly, redheaded kleptomaniac girl,)

Nancy rolled her eyes at the description.

(hitting my best friend Grover in the back of the head with chunks of peanut butter-and-ketchup sandwich.)

Nancy paled at the glares she was given and actually felt guilty for how she treated them.

"Peanut butter and ketchup?" asked a disgusted Apollo.

"Who would eat that?" asked an also disgusted Artemis.

"Oh gods, I think I'm gonna be sick." said an also disgusted Hermes.

"Sounds yummy." said a smirking Ares, getting weird looks.

(Grover was an easy target. He was scrawny. He cried when he got frustrated. He must've been held back several grades, because he was the only sixth grader with acne and the start of a wispy beard on his chin. On top of all that, he was crippled.)

"Geez, thanks for the description." said a sarcastic Grover, glaring at Percy but felt guilt for not spending time with him.

"Sorry." said a wincing Percy, getting worried looks.

Perseus and Theseus are worried for him.

Poseidon and Amphitrite promise to talk with him.

(He had a note excusing him from PE for the rest of his life because he had some kind of muscular disease in his legs. He walked funny, like every step hurt him, but don't let that fool you. You should've seen him run when it was enchilada day in the cafeteria.)

"GROVER!" yelled the annoyed Demi-Gods.

However, Percy laughed at this, remembering that.

Chiron puts his hand to his face in annoyance.

(Anyway, Nancy Bobofit was throwing wads of sandwich that stuck in his curly brown hair, and she knew I couldn't do anything back to her because I was already on probation.)

"What did you do?" asked an annoyed Annabeth.

"Nothing, all teachers hate me." said an upset Percy.

Nancy rolled her eyes fondly at hearing this.

Matt just scoffed.

(The headmaster threatened me with death)

"WHAT?!" yelled the worried nice people, mostly Apollo and Diana.

"Let me finish." said an annoyed Percy.

(by in-school suspension if anything bad, embarrassing, or even mildly entertaining happened on this trip.)

"Oh." said the sheepish people.

However, people are confused by Poseidon's reaction.

'Why does he care about that demi-god?' thought a confused Zeus and Hades.

However, Apollo made the connection but gave a wink to Percy, who was grateful.

Chapter 2: Three Old Ladies Knit the Socks of Death[]

Before they read the chapter, more lights appear and it's people from the past.

Everyone a little bit recognized these people.

A 12-year-old Percy Jackson, Sally Jackson, 12-year-old Annabeth Chase, Frederick Chase, 19-year-old Luke Castellan, 28-year-old Grover Underwood, 15-year-old Thalia Grace, and 10-year-old Nico De Angelo.

They were caught up on events and every female said awe at the younger Percy.

The younger Annabeth wonders how did her older self fell for him but did admit that he was cute.

Younger Luke noticed but tried to be happy for her.

"Here's some introductions: this little guy is me from the past." said a smiling Older Percy.

"Hello everyone." said a polite Younger Percy, earning awes.

"This is my mom Sally Jackson." said a smiling Older Percy.

"Hello everyone." said a polite Sally.

"This is Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena and Frederick Chase." said a smiling Older Percy.

"Hi." said a polite Younger Annabeth.

"This is Frederick Chase, father of Annabeth." said

Chapter 3: Grover Unexpectantly Loses His Pants[]

When the title was read, all the good people laugh at this but both Percy's realized they'll find out their old home life.

Grover comforted him, also knowing what was coming up.

(Confession time: I ditched Grover as soon as we got to the bus terminal.)

"Percy!" said the upset nice people.

(I know, I know. It was rude. But Grover was freaking me out, looking at me like I was a dead man, muttering "Why does this always happen?" and "Why does it always have to be sixth grade?")

"Sorry." said a sheepish younger Grover.

"It's alright." said a forgiving younger Percy.

(Whenever he got upset, Grover's bladder acted up, so I wasn't surprised when, as soon as we got off the bus, he made me promise to wait for him, then made a beeline for the restroom.)

"GROVER!" yelled the annoyed demi-gods.

"Oops." said a sheepish both Grover's.

(Instead of waiting, I got my suitcase, slipped outside, and caught the first taxi uptown.)

"Excellent skills. You would've made an excellent prankster." said a proud Hermes, earning nods.

("East One-hundred-and-fourth and First," I told the driver.)

"I moved." said the older Percy, sternly glaring at the Stolls.

(A word about my mother, before you meet her.)

"Magnificent." said both Percy's.

"Amazing." said a happy older Thalia.

"Motherly." said an also happy older Nico.

"Beautiful." said a smiling Poseidon and Neptune.

Sally smiled at the compliments.

(Her name is Sally Jackson and she's the best person in the world, which just proves my theory that the best people have the rottenest luck. Her own parents died in a plane crash when she was five,)

Everyone glared at Zeus, who paled and looked guilty.

(and she was raised by an uncle who didn't care much about her.)

"But he should care." said an upset younger Annabeth, not liking how Sally got treated.

"Oh trust me, there's a worst guardian than him." said an angry younger Percy.

(She wanted to be a novelist, so she spent high school working to save enough money for a college with a good creative-writing program.)

Everyone nodded at that in respect.

(Then her uncle got cancer, and she had to quit school her senior year to take care of him. After he died, she was left with no money, no family, and no diploma.)

Everyone felt bad for her.

(The only good break she ever got was meeting my dad.)

Everyone said awe at this.

(I don't have any memories of him, just this sort of warm glow, maybe the barest trace of his smile.)

"You visited him?" asked an annoyed Zeus.

"Yes, I would do it again." said a brave Poseidon.

Both Percy's smile gratefully.

(My mom doesn't like to talk about him because it makes her sad. She has no pictures.)

(See, they weren't married. She told me he was rich and important, and their relationship was a secret. Then one day, he set sail across the Atlantic on some important journey and he never came back.)

(Lost at seas, my mom told me. Not dead. Lost at sea.)

Athena was surprised by Sally's intelligence.

Artemis had respect for her.

(She worked odd jobs, took night classes to get her high school diploma, and raised me on her own. She never complained or got mad. Not even once. But I knew I wasn't an easy kid.)

Sally hugged the younger Percy.

The younger Annabeth liked Sally and thinks she's a great mother.

(Finally, she married Gabe Ugliano,)

Both Percy's growled at the mention of that bastard.

Older Annabeth, Older Thalia, Older Leo, Older Piper, Older Calypso, Older Nico, Older Katie, Older Jason, Older Reyna, and Both Grover's also growl, hating that guy.

Even Sally didn't like mentioning him.

"Who would have the last name Ugliano?" asked a confused younger Annabeth.

"Someone with an ugly soul." said a glaring older Thalia.

"And ugly heart." said an also glaring Artemis.

(who was nice the first thirty seconds we knew him, then showed his true colors as a world-class jerk.)

Many people growled at this.

Both Luke's, both Chris's, and both Clarisse's also growl, having a feeling that they won't like this guy.

Apollo and Diana got worried.

(When I was young, I nicknamed him Smelly Gabe.)

Despite the tension, everyone chuckled at the nickname.

(I'm sorry, but it's the truth. The guy reeked like moldy garlic pizza wrapped in gym shorts.)

"EW!" yelled the disgusted guests.

"Try being near him." said an annoyed both Percy's, both Grover's, and Sally.

Gabe scowled at them but his chains won't let him harm them.

(Between the two of us, we made my mom's life pretty hard. The way Smelly Gabe treated her, the way he and I got along...well, when I came home is a good example.)

Everyone growled at Gabe.

Poseidon and his children hoped that Percy was alright.

(I walked into our little apartment, hoping my mom would be home from work. Instead, Smelly Gabe was in the living room, playing poker with his buddies. The television blared ESPN. Chips and beer cans were strewn all over the carpet.)

Everyone looked disgusted.

The younger Luke and younger Annabeth were appalled by this.

(Hardly looking up, he said around his cigar, "So, you're home."

("Where's my mom?")

("Working," he said. "You got any cash?")

"Excuse me?" asked an irritated Apollo.

"You asked a twelve-year-old for cash?" asked an also irritated Diana.

Gabe didn't care.

(That was it. No welcome back. Good to see you. How was your life been the last summer?)

(Gabe had put on weight. He looked like a tuskless walrus in thrift-store clothes. He had about three hairs on his head, all combed over his bald scalp, as if that made him handsome or something.)

Gabe scowled at his accurate description, threatening to kill that brat.

The younger Percy noticed and got scared but the younger Annabeth and younger Thalia pulled him into a hug and glared at Gabe.

Apollo and Diana also saw this and joined in on protecting younger Percy.

(He managed the Electronics Mega-Mart in Queens, but he stayed home most of the time. I don't know why he hadn't been fired long before.)

"Wait, he still had his job?" asked a shocked younger Annabeth.

"Yep." said a nodding younger Percy.

(He just kept on collecting paychecks, spending the money on cigars that made me nauseous, and on beer, of course. Always beer.)

"But he shouldn't be doing that. He should provide for you and Sally." said an angry younger Annabeth.

"He doesn't care." said an upset younger Percy.

(Whenever I was home, he expected me to provide is gambling funds. He called that our "guy secret." Meaning, if I told my mom, he would punch my lights out.)

"WHAT?!" yelled the shocked and angry guests.

"He hit you?!" asked an angry both Annabeth's, both Thalia's, and both Luke's.

Both Percy's nodded with tears.

Diana went to the younger Percy and was horrified to see a bruise on his stomach.

Everyone glared at Gabe.

"This is child abuse!" said the angry audience.

"So what, that little bastard deserves it. I never even wanted his worthless ass." said an uncaring Gabe, getting glares from everyone for admitting it and not showing remorse.

Poseidon, Paul, and Sally looked pissed as Hell and wanted to kill Gabe.

"Percy, come with me and Apollo to the infirmary while the others "talk" with Gabe." said a serious Diana, spitting out Gabe's name as if it was a swear word.

Younger Percy nodded and came with them.

Older Luke, older Chris, and older Clarisse agreed to join in on killing Gabe. They might not be on good terms with older Percy but they don't think he deserves getting hit.

Gabe got scared as everyone came towards him and he screams in horror.

1 hour later, younger Percy came back with Apollo and Diana but they noticed that Gabe was gone and dust was shown.

"I think we know what you did with him." said a smirking Apollo.

"Yep, he won't bother Percy anymore." said a satisfied Artemis, brushing her hands off.

"Thank you." said a happy younger Percy, hugging Artemis.

She responds by returning the hug.

"It's okay, my son. You're safe from him." said a reassuring Poseidon.

"He won't hurt me anymore? I don't have to fear him anymore?" asked a desperate younger Percy.

"Don't worry, he won't hurt you again." said a smiling Hestia.

Younger Percy decided to sit on Younger Annabeth's lap, much to her approval and she was happy about it.

("I don't have any cash," I told him.)

(He raised a greasy eyebrow.)

(Gabe could sniff out money like a bloodhound, which was surprising, since his own smell should've covered up everything else.)

"Oh his scent covers up mine." said an understanding younger Percy.

"That is correct." said a nodding older Percy.

("You took a taxi from the bus station," he said. "Probably paid with a twenty. Got six, seven bucks in change. Somebody expects to live under this roof, he ought to carry his own weight. Am I right, Eddie?")

"He can do math?" asked a surprised younger Annabeth.

"Only when money is involved." said an annoyed younger Percy.

(Eddie, the super of the apartment building, looked at me with a twinge of sympathy. "Come on, Gabe," he said. "The kid just got here.")

("Am I right?" Gabe repeated.)

(Eddie scowled into his bowl of pretzels. The other two guys passed gas in harmony.)

Everyone was disgusted.

("Fine," I said. I dug a wad of dollars out of my pocket and threw the money on the table. "I hope you lose.")

"Consider it done." said a smirking Dionysus.

"Amen." said an agreeing Hermes.

("Your report card came, brain boy!" he shouted after me. "I wouldn't act so snooty!")

"Oh please, you probably only graduated because your parents must've bribed you to work hard in school." said a scoffing younger Annabeth, defending her future boyfriend.

Younger Percy smiled at her, which she returned with a nod.

(I slammed the door to my room, which really wasn't my room. During school months, it was Gabe's "study.")

"As if he studies." said a scoffing younger Luke.

(He didn't study anything in there except old car magazines, but he loved shoving my stuff in the closet, leaving his muddy boots on my windowsill, and doing his best to make the place smell like his nasty cologne and cigars and stale beer.)

"What a pig." said a disgusted Artemis, earning a nod from her hunters.

"I'm surprised that Percy stayed a good kid." said a sighing Hestia.

(I dropped my suitcase on the bed. Home sweet home.)

"I so love your sarcasm." said an amused younger Annabeth.

The younger Percy laughed.

The younger Luke noticed but calmed down.

Interlude: Percy's Piano Skills[]

Chapter 4: My Mother Teaches Me Bullfighting[]

Everyone goes back to reading but older Luke, older Annabeth, older Chris, and older Clarisse were silent, not liking how they acted towards older Percy. They are remorseful for how they acted.

Older Percy was worried for them, they might've been jerks but they can't be alone in misery.

Younger Luke and Younger Annabeth are also worried for them.
