I lovingly refer to my Keto Crab Soup as Crap DIP Soup! Because it is creamy, chock-full of crab and positively delicious, just like the crab dips we all know and love. But seriously, I can’t be the only one that has thought (while eating crab dip) that this would make an amazing soup, or rather I’d prefer to ditch the carb-laden dipper and just eat this crab dip with a spoon, am I right?? Who’s with me?!

Oh yeah, and just 5g carbs per serving, making it low-carb & keto diet friendly!

The secret ingredient is Primal Palate’s New Bae Seasoning.

Can use regular the classic seafood loving Old Bay seasoning? Yes you can, but there’s just something so much supremely more fabulous about this New Bae Blend. And Old Bay tends to be just a tiny bit saltier so season slowly, tasting as you go. Ok?!?!

Why New Bae Seasoning?

Can you PLEASE just trust me?? Your taste buds and your body will thank you! It just tastes like Chesapeake Bay, in a real way. Not the faux-trying-too-hard-over-done-so-last-year-vibe I get from Old Bay.

New Bae Seasoning is clearly labeled with it’s ingredients (unlike Old Bay which uses the obscure “spice” which allows a whole host of naughty-unhealthy ingredients) and uses natural sea salt instead of cheap, unhealthy salt.

I always feel like Old Bay is so salty and it gets in the way of enjoying the flavor combinations, that’s what I love most about New Bae, it’s so full of flavor with the prefect balance of saltiness.

Yes, I’m friends with Bill & Hayley at Primal Palate, but they aren’t sponsoring this post. The didn’t send me this spice blend to try. This post is 100% authentically because I love New Bae Seasoning.

Now that we got all that out of the way (and hopefully eliminating TONS of emails and comments asking the same question over and over and over again) — we can get back to more important things like what you’re going to love the most about this soup…

What is so amazing about Crab Dip vs most Cream of Crab soups, is the ratio of Crab to Broth.

In this Keto Crab bisque, you might want to complain that there’s simply TOO MUCH LUMP CRAB MEAT.

I say that with sarcasm.

Is there such thing as too much crab? I think not.

Keto Crab Soup Ingredients

How to make Keto Crab Soup

In a pot over medium heat, melt butter and add New Bae Seasoning. Add cream cheese (cut into pieces) and half and half. Use a whisk, stir until smooth.

Add parmesan cheese. If you want a completely smooth soup “broth” I suggest using a immersion blender or process in your blenderworking in small batches, blend until smooth.

Gently add crab meat, being careful not to break up the chunks. Reduce heat, your Keto Crab Soup is ready to enjoy when the crab meat is heated through.

Each spoon of soup is generously crabby. And so beautifully creamy.

What you don’t need in your keto crab soup is extras like onions, tomatoes, corn, peas, green beans, etc. It won’t need thickend with a roux. This isn’t a maryland crab soup!! Leave the garlic, peppers and lemon in the fridge!
